Church Hill is one of the district centres built by Redditch New Town Corporation in the 1970s. It was designed on the principle of separating pedestrians, private cars, and buses, which has contributed to its becoming a dysfunctional place. For the Council we have proposed how the centre could be redesigned and redeveloped, on a different principle of a shared High Street, as a joint venture with a commercial developer.
